Help ATC – Chase Community Giving

The Appropriate Technology Collaborative is asking for your support.  ATC designs new affordable appropriate technologies for low income people in the developing world.  We have designed a Solar LED Lighting System, a Solar Vaccine Refrigerator (with no moving parts and no electricity!), a Treadle Pump for rural farmers and much more.

We also work with groups like Engineers Without Borders to improve the infrastructure in the communities where we work in Latin America.

When one of our designs reaches a critical point in development we take the design team to Guatemala (and soon Nicaragua!)  to prototype the work to prove it can be built and maintained in the developing world.  We then publish our designs online for other nonprofits an NGOs to copy and/or improve upon.

Our goal is to make new affordable green technologies that are buildable and repairable in the developing world.

Please click on the graphic above and vote for us on Facebook!  This will give us a chance at part of $5,000,000.

The money from Chase will help us develop our new very simple generator that runs off of waste heat from a wood stove.  This new technology will provide power for affordable LED lights, a small radio and even charge a cell phone for people who live off the grid all over the world.

Please don’t delay, the contest ends Dec 15th.

Thanks,

John Barrie

The Contest is Over!!  Thanks for the support!!
