According to new data from the Energy Information Agency (EIA), for the 12 month period ending in April 2009, US renewable energy set a new record: 9.47% of overall generation

Cooler yet is that in April renewable energy contributed 13% to total US electrical generation

This is in an era when overall electric generation is down by about 5% from our gluttonous highs.  Noteworthy also is that coal-fired electricity was down 13.9% for the same period
